Mrs. Ella Fernandez received her BA from the University of California, Los Angeles and her Juris Doctorate from Whittier College, School of Law where she was on the Dean’s List and was first in her criminal law class, earning the American Jurisprudence Award in Criminal Law.  Mrs. Fernandez was also editor in chief of “The Barrister” and member of the Hispanic Law students Association. 

After successfully passing California State Bar exam on her first attempt, Mrs. Fernandez joined the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office.  As a Deputy District Attorney for nearly eight years she held positions in various units, including Preliminary Hearings, Misdemeanor Trials, Felony Trial Team, Domestic Violence, Juvenile Court, Drugs, Welfare Fraud and SACA (Sexual Assault Cases).  She also had numerous trial wins in DUI, Gang, Drug, Domestic Violence, Violent Crime, Rape and Grand Theft Auto cases; she was awarded the prestigious “Bull Dog” award in 2006 for trial victories.  Mrs. Fernandez left the D.A’s office as Trial Team Leader in the Major Narcotics unit.
